Another Dem Bites the Dust … Two-Time “Most Corrupt” Winner Dodd to Retire
BY: NCViking
Christopher Dodd, the Carbon Tax nutroot of Washington, carrier of the Health Care monstrosity torch from Ted Kennedy, largest netter of AIG campaign stipends, receiver of sweetheart mortgages, Senate Banking Committee stooge, and admitted adder of executive bonus loopholes to the Porkulus (after of course repeatedly denying it) is now retiring.
It seems that Democrat Kleptocrat Majorities are starting to crumble, with the latest being Dodd. Long considered one of the most corrupt politicians in congress, Dodd is facing sure defeat if he runs again. So taking a page from the Byron Dorgan playbook, he announced his retirement just hours after the Democrat senator from North Dakota. Dem’s are confident that they will refill the seat with another party-man/woman, but these latest developments are spelling trouble for Obama’s aggressive yet increasingly unpopular reforms. Now with the EPA strong-arming congress into enacting Cap and Tax to save us from the phantom CO2 monsters, Democrats face having to force yet another unpopular, over-reaching bill through right before an election cycle. How many more will bail before choosing self-preservation over the Obama agenda?
From MSNBC:
Dodd, who has taken heat for a discounted VIP mortgage loan he got from a subprime lender, has been consistently behind potential GOP challenger Rob Simmons in Connecticut polls. Simmons, a former House member, has his own challenger in World Wrestling Entertainment co-founder Linda McMahon, who is also seeking the Republican nomination for Dodd’s seat.
As recently as Monday, Dodd brushed aside questions about stepping aside for another Democratic candidate, and insisted he was in the race for good. He acknowledged that some of his fellow Democrats were “antsy” with his low poll numbers, but said things can change quickly in politics.
“Clearly I’m glad the race isn’t today, and the good news is, it’s not,” Dodd told reporters as he toured a small manufacturing company in Bristol, Conn.
Last week, Dodd’s campaign sent an e-mail to supporters seeking contributions. “The Republicans have declared my seat as one of the top targets and they intend to spend whatever it takes to win,” the e-mail said.
McMahon’s campaign released a statement early Wednesday saying: “Linda McMahon’s appeal in this race from day one has been that she’s an outsider with real world experience at a time when it’s clear Washington has lost its way and career politicians just don’t get it. None of that changes.”
Local Connecticut News take on the upcoming Dodd announcement:
Good riddance.

The only issue with Dodd retiring is it gives the Dems a chance to fill this seat with another Obamoclone. Dodd was personally unpopular with CT voters, and he would likely have lost any general election. Yet, someone who will have the same voting pattern, and likely not as hard of hair will easily get elected.
Compared to Dorgan leaving, whose seat will undoubtedly flip, chalk up ridding themselves of Dodd to the Dems as a good political move.
Sounds like a song I’ve heard…
Another dem bits the dust….
Another dem bits the dust….
And another one gone and another one gone
Another dem bits the dust….
