Is Huckabee Doneabee?
By The Arch City Madman
Mike Huckabee was not my choice for President in the 2008 primaries. I personally liked Fred Thompson from the very start but he fizzled out pretty quickly. There was just something about Mr. Huckabee that prevented me from supporting him. Now I know what that something was.
This weekend a convicted and commuted criminal killed four police officers in Washington state. I’m sure we will find out why, but the interesting part of the case is that then Governor Huckabee commuted his sentence.
From the news reports it seems that this former ward of the state of Arkansas was violent as a teen and continued this pattern while incarcerated. From the Examiner:
“I am going to kill some cops,” Maurice Clemmons, 37, said night before he ambushed his victims, according to the U.K. Daily Mail.
Clemmons faced child rape and police assault charges. He was loosed on the public by Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee in 2000 after he had served 11 years of a 95-year sentence for robbery.
Nice, real nice. Fortunately for the rest of us, Mr. Clemmons has assumed room temperature.
If this action does not take Huckabee out of the 2012 running, I’m not sure what will. He has indicated that he is less likely to run for President in 2012, but that is not a NO. On the other hand, Obama snaked through the smoke even with all the controversy with Rev. Wright, Bill Ayers, etc.
Only time will tell, but I believe that you can stick a fork in Mr. Huckabee, I think he’s done.
Over and Out.
