It is a wonder to me why MSNBC keeps Chris Matthews on their payroll. Mr. Matthews was on the Today Show speaking about President Obama and his connection to Senator Kennedy. In the video clip he indicates that: “the torch has been passed….Barak’s now the last (Kennedy) brother.” 

Now I don’t agree with much of anything Senator Kennedy stood for but I do believe this is an insult to the whole Kennedy family to equate our current president to an iconic American family.  This is pure gobbledy-gook on the part of Chris Matthews and the reaction of the Today Show anchors tells me that they feel the same way.

Is this what constitutes political analysis on NBC? What a sad state of affairs for a once shining network.
