Climate Change and the Horror of Eugenics; UPDATE: Stonewalling

BY: NCViking
In comments and posts on this blog, I have often compared the movement of anthropogenic CO2-induced Global Warming Climate Change as one resembling Eugenics. If anybody reading is unfamiliar with Eugenics, it was an early 20th century movement that promoted improvement of the human species or human population by controlling reproduction using a forced selection process as to weed out undesirable traits. It was a well-funded ‘consensus’ alliance between the scientific community and governments to save the human race from its eminent demise from a polluted gene pool. Believers, advocates and promoters of this theory included reputable scientists, the media majority and most of the world’s political heavies including Theodore Roosevelt, Woodrow Wilson, Winston Churchill … and Adolf Hitler. It was the ‘consensus’ movement of the time, directly descended from Darwin, ultimately ending in warped Nazi atrocities. What many people do not know is that forced sterilization practices under the banner of Eugenics occurred in many countries outside of Germany including the United States and Canada. It was a horribly flawed, horribly politicized theory leading to the most horrific human-induced tragedy in recorded history – all for the ‘greater good’.
So what does this movement have to do with anthropogenic CO2-induced Global Warming Climate Change? It seems that we are repeating history in the early 21st century.
Modern Climate Change theory is a politically-driven, money-soaked and very flawed ‘consensus’ theory that is being used to impose draconian measures on humanity by governments. The empirical evidence does not support the theory, but that seems to get lost on advocates who as indoctrinated robots are encouraged to not ask questions, stick to the mantra, and move life-changing policy forward under the fear of impending catastrophe. One of the most disturbing facts regarding this movement is that the two most powerful countries in the world, Britain and the United States, have ‘green’ advisors that not only subscribe to the theory of man-made Climate Change but also advocate Eugenics-like solutions to this alleged crisis.
In Britain, Jonathon Porritt, who chairs the government’s Sustainable Development Commission and is its official ‘green advisor’ says curbing population growth through contraception and abortion must be at the heart of policies to fight global warming. Michelle Malkin’s blog is running a series of posts on President Obama’s ‘Science Czar’ John Holdren taking this position to a whole other level as it relates to population control. I will not go into much detail here about his beliefs because she covers the issue quite well at her blog. I encourage readers to go there to discover where his radical beliefs came from and what he subscribes to now. Below is a summary taken from one of her posts:
Refresher on Holdren’s eco-zealous views:
- Women could be forced to abort their pregnancies, whether they wanted to or not;
- The population at large could be sterilized by infertility drugs intentionally put into the nation’s drinking water or in food;
- Single mothers and teen mothers should have their babies seized from them against their will and given away to other couples to raise;
- People who “contribute to social deterioration” (i.e. undesirables) “can be required by law to exercise reproductive responsibility” — in other words, be compelled to have abortions or be sterilized.
- A transnational “Planetary Regime” should assume control of the global economy and also dictate the most intimate details of Americans’ lives — using an armed international police force.
Amazingly enough, the theory of man-made Global Warming is not the only one that seems to be imploding – so may be the fear of earth’s overpopulation crisis. Human ‘de-population’ may in fact be occurring naturally through the process of industrialization. The richer people get, the less offspring they need, and this is actually playing out in the birthrates of Europe, the United States and now South America. These radical and disturbing positions, like in the case of Eugenics, advocate horrific solutions to a crisis that may not even exist – and these advocates have the ears and support of the world politic. This may be the real impending crisis that could lead to global catastrophe if we don’t collectively come to our senses.
Scientific theories mistaken for fact and being acted upon en masse for the ‘greater good’ can have catastrophic results. We saw this with Eugenics and are witnessing it unfold now with the theory of man-made Climate Change. Humanity should always proceed with prudence, not hysterics and silence of debate when contemplating issues that effect it in such profound ways.
UPDATE: Stonewalling
While I was gone, Michelle Malkin posted an update that included a stonewalling response from a White House Office of Science and Technology Policy minion to her investigative questioning of Holdren. I have defaulted to MM on his particular story because she is not only a reputable conservative blogger but also an investigative journalist by profession – me, just a hobby blogger. Here is what they told her:
I got an earful from OSTP flack Rick Weiss, who lectured me about journalism. He let me know that he was a reporter for 15 years (at the Washington Post) and put me on notice against writing a “smear job.” He had snippy words for blogs covering the Holdren story and warned against making unfair associations between what Holdren believes and what other population control promoters believe.
So pointing out his own disturbing words and views and bloggers comparing them to others, in MM case his mentor Harrison Brown and in my case pointing out Jonathon Porritt (Britain) holds similar beliefs relating to population control, is somehow unfair.
Bottom line: these are two individuals in two prominent government science advisory positions that believe abortions, and in the case of Holdren, forced sterilizations could be used for controlling population to avoid environmental catastrophe. This is quite disturbing.
Here are a few other media sources that have investigated the Holdren story or are picking it up now:

Great explanation of Eugenics. I doubt many people really know what this is or where the idea came from in the first place.
You can add the above post to things least likely to ever happen. There are just so many wrong twists and turns that it is difficult whee to start.
John Holdren is the extremely well respected former president of the AAAS and President Obama’s Science Czar. His advice is the best advice that Obama can receive, although it is certainly not the only advice that Obama will be listening to.
John Holdren did study the effects of population on growth in the 70’s and concluded at that time that the US would be over populated at above 280M. It is now over 300M, mostly due to legal immigration.
John Holdren is hardly an advocate of Eugenics. It is a stretch for you to draw such a conclusion. Then again you are borrowing heavily from Michelle Malkin.
You asked why it’s called Climate Change. For the last 20 years it’s been the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change. Scientists know well that the issues in CC are about acidification, raise in CO2, and runaway warming. Conservatives are fond of the using the coded phrase
Global WarmingClimate Change, as if the deleted text meant something. Unless you can show that it once was IPGW, then it only shows a lack of knowledge in the topic.
YouMichelle Malkin, whom you copied extensively, and somedogmareligious like to draw a line between Darwin and Nazi atrocities. To do so, which in many ways is the only reason I post a reply, is to not understand Darwin’s Origin of the Species.- Darwin observed adaptation. There are many popular but incorrect quotations attributed to Darwin. He saw finches and turtles change shape and what he described is adaptation: “Survival of those most able to adapt.”
- The idea of racial superiority and enslavement are enshrined in two of the most famous documents in the Western world. Both precede Darwin by a substantial number of years. I’ll list both a bit further below.
- The idea that might make laws, that is the idea that the fittest survive, is enshrined in the history of the world. It is Mongols over most of Asia, of Persians over most of the known world, Romans across Europe, Asia Minor and North Africa, it is the Crusades over Jerusalem. In short, it has nothing whatever to do with Darwin.
- The most modern idea of slavery (and with it racial superiority) is written in a document that has produced a lot of good, a document whose ideas people today would gladly fight and die to preserve, a document that is a beacon to most of the world. It has disavowed its enshrined statement of slavery. That document is the US Constitution.
Representatives and direct Taxes shall be apportioned among the several States which may be included within this Union, according to their respective Numbers, which shall be determined by adding to the whole Number of free Persons, including those bound to Service for a Term of Years, and excluding Indians not taxed, three fifths of all other Persons. This was modified by the 14th Amendment, section 2.
- The other document, not amended, allows the holding and use of slavery, including how hard you can beat them. I’ll quote directly from the New and Old Testaments
Lev 25:44-46 “you may purchase male or female slaves from among the foreigners who live among you… You may treat them as your property, passing them on to your children as a permanent inheritance.”
Exodus 21:2-6 “his master must take him to the door and publicly pierce his ear with an awl. After that, the slave will belong to his master forever.”
Exodus 21:7-11 “When a man sells his daughter as a slave, she will not be freed at the end of six years as the men are. If she does not please the man who bought her…”
Exodus 21:20-21 “When a man strikes his male or female slave with a rod so hard that the slave dies under his hand, he shall be punished. If, however, the slave survives for a day or two, he is not to be punished, since the slave is his own property.”
Ephesians 6:5 “Slaves, obey your earthly masters with deep respect and fear. Serve them sincerely as you would serve Christ.”
1 Timothy 6:1-2 “Christians who are slaves should give their masters full respect so that the name of God and his teaching will not be shamed.”
Luke 12:47-48 “The servant will be severely punished, for though he knew his duty, he refused to do it. But people who are not aware that they are doing wrong will be punished only lightly.”
Why should I trust the point of a post that draws conclusions clearly not supported by the research?
You can do better. You just can’t do it by copying Michelle.
What the heck does this post have to do with religion or slavery? You are all over the place. It is about Holdren, Porritt and their beliefs and words.
My reply has everything to do with Holder and Eugenics.
–Your post states: “It [Eugenics] was the ‘consensus’ movement of the time, directly descended from Darwin, ultimately ending in warped Nazi atrocities.”
–I said: you do “not understand Darwin’s Origin of the Species.”
The theories of racial superiority derive from practices and documents that existed for centuries before Darwin.
Given that you are wrong on Darwin, given that you are quoting Holder out of context, why should I believe anything you have to say on the subject?
“The modern field and term (Eugenics) were first formulated by Sir Francis Galton in 1883, drawing on the recent work of his half-cousin Charles Darwin.” Warping Darwinism theory as a basis to sterilize or exterminate “undesirables” to promote a better gene pool is what happened. It was a brutal warping of a scientific theory into a horrible social movement. It was wrong.
Holdren and Porritt believe in human population control. Holdren coauthored a book “EcoScience” that advocated warped ideas of forced sterilization, abortions and other things to control population to avoid environmental catastrophe. His own words and beliefs that he has not renounced. Porritt advocates the warped idea of abortions to combat global warming, I posted about this earlier in the year. These are radical and disturbing ideas advocated by prominent individuals, reminiscent of the stupidity of Eugenics, which is quite disturbing and wrong.
You have a right to believe whatever you want. The readers can follow this debate and decide for themselves.
Let me see if I get this straight…
- Darwin write the Origin of the Species about adaptation and evolution.
- Darwin’s half-cousin comes up with a wacky theory that looks a lot more like might makes right
- Hitler invades Europe on another totally whacked out idea based on slavery, racial superiority, and a half cocked notion of pogroms
- Darwin gets blamed
But wait, it gets worse
-
YouMichelle Malkin thinks it relates toIPCCIPGWAnd worse still
-
YouMichelle Malkin thinks that usingGlobal WarmingClimate Change is clever syntax !And (seriously) worse still
- I doubt you read EcoScience. You are just quoting Michelle Malkin.
- The quotes pulled are largely out of context
- The actual context has to do with what will be the necessary if populations exceed sustainable levels, such as a prolonged lack of food production or other cataclysmic events
Keep quoting out of context; keep pretending there is something huge issue where there is none; keep just copying the Oracle of Michelle Malkin.
