A new report suggests Mark Sanford and his lover were hacked and threatened over their steamy email correspondence.
From WLTX.com local Columbia, SC CBS affiliate:
Buenos Aires (WLTX) – According to McClatchy Newspapers, there is word from Argentina that Governor Sanford was being threatened over emails that he sent to his mistress.
A report on McClatchey’s website says a television anchor in Argentina claims that Maria Chapur and Governor Sanford received an e-mail threat from the person who hacked into her hotmail account.
Eduardo Feinmann, who worked with Chapur, says a member of Chapur’s family told him of the threats.
He said the unidentified person warned both Sanford and Chapur that “you don’t know who you are messing with.”
Feinmann says the e-mails threatening the couple arrived before Christmas, but he’s not sure how they responded. On December 30th of last year, the hacker sent the steamy e-mails between Chapur and the Governor to The State Newspaper.
Sanford’s spokesman Joel Sawyer declined to comment on this latest report.
Who was threatening the man indulging his midlife crisis? This story just keeps getting more interesting every day.
