Slow Joe Biden Aims to Cripple Travel Industry

BY: WC WINDBAG
Leave it to Slow Joe… he will be giving us daily nuggets to use for the next four to eight years. As I read in a Hot Air post today, from Tom Maguire’s JustOneMinute Blog, “They told me that if I voted for McCain we’d have a Vice President who was a moron… and they were right!”
Old Joe was at it again today, speaking off the cuff why he would recommend against traveling on planes and the subway to his own family during these perilous times… the Era of the Swine Flu.
Of course, the White House left it to the poor and hapless Robert Gibbs to clean up. Too bad Gibbs was laughed at (not with this time) for the lame explanation.
Where is Keith Olbermann now with an updated “shut up” rant? Where is our “SIR, SIR” from the modern day Murrow? Quite selfishly, I hope it never comes… the Vice President is much too entertaining!

What really disturbs me about this is not the Biden gaffe (which is to be expected), it’s the blatant lying by Napolitano and Gibbs in their “What the Vice President meant to say” damage control. Neither one needs to explain to us what he meant to say, it was clear. It was also wrong of an administration official to say it. Call it what it was, don’t ‘make up’ a bogus meaning for it. How they handled this was very Clinton-esque and I am not referring to his good traits. “It depends upon what the meaning of ‘is’ … is.”-type of crap that the public is sick and tired of from our politicians. This is why the softball-tossing press corps laughed at it. Not even these Obamatons could find justification in that explanation.
No ‘Change’ here.
I don’t think the White House could really come out and say: (1) Joe is an idiot and we have ZERO control over what he says; (2) We agree with the VP said; or (3) We are happy with Joe.
They picked him for some odd reason, and he has turned out to be exactly what all half-alert humans thought he would… a gaffe machine!
No, they probably wouldn’t call him out as the ‘gaffe machine’ he is, but they could have said: “This may be how Vice President Biden is personally advising his family, and he is entitled to do so how he wishes, but it is not what we recommend. ” Or something of this nature. Better than lying.
No, you can not separate the vice president and official policy, and his personal life. They can not say: “do this” and have administration officials do something else. That is even beyond the pale for Libs… except in the case of education and vouchers.
Agreed, and I said in an early comment that it was wrong of him to do so. It’s about damage control. No need to scold him at a press conference, just simply clarify and reassert the administration’s position … not lie and make an even bigger spectacle of the situation.
