EPA to Regulate CO2 as a Pollutant … Earth to EPA: CO2 IS A NUTRIENT!
BY: NCViking
UGH! Amidst all of the Tea Party hullabaloo, a big event happened that may affect us all quite profoundly: The EPA formally announced greenhouse gasses including ‘CO2’ are pollutants. This means they fall under the regulation of the Clean Air Act. This means if Cap-and-Trade somehow doesn’t happen thanks to some reasonable and frisky Republicans, come hell or high water, we are going to get soaked by Gov Co. over this bogus Global Warming Climate Change theory. Tax ahoy!
From Time:
Excerpts from: EPA’s CO2 Finding: Putting a Gun to Congress’s Head
The EPA issued its long-awaited “endangerment finding,” formally declaring that carbon dioxide and five other greenhouse gases are pollutants that threaten public health and welfare. Under the Clean Air Act, that finding means that the EPA has a responsibility to address the damage caused by greenhouse gases, possibly through direct regulation of CO2 — just as it regulates other air pollutants, like acid rain-causing sulfur dioxide.
The problem is getting cap-and-trade passed in Congress; most Republicans are against it on the grounds that it might hurt the economy by raising energy prices in the short term, and many Democrats from states with lots of polluting coal plants feel similarly.
So the possibility that in the face of Congressional inaction the EPA might take matters into its own hands and directly regulate greenhouse gases can be seen as a not so subtle threat. Either act on your own, or let an EPA bureaucrat do it for you. Said Frank O’Donnell, president of Clean Air Watch: “If business groups such as the U.S. Chamber of Commerce continue to oppose Congressional action, they ought to ask themselves, in the immortal words of Clint Eastwood: Do you feel lucky?”
The EPA’s move on Friday was characterized by the top global warming analyst for the National Wildlife Federation as the “single largest step the federal government had taken to fight climate change.” But there is still a long way to go before the agency may undertake what would be the most far-reaching environmental regulation in U.S. history.
You see Johnny, Big Green Al says those evil CO2 Monsters are warming the planet giving it a fever, making the seas rise out of control, and killing cuddly polar bears so we need to do our part for the greater good. (groan) Because we CAN do something! (groan) Because we have the power to change the earth’s climate and make it a perfect 1955 version forever, everywhere! (GROAN!)
This boondoggle of an issue is rapidly losing its credibility so the Global Warming Climate Change special interests are pulling out all the stops. When will the madness end? There is absolutely no factual evidence that the warming over the last 100 years and the virtual stasis of temperatures over the last 10 is caused by CO2. On the contrary, there is compelling, factual, lab-tested evidence that it is natural cycle and is quite normal.
Don’t believe me? Think I am a heretic or holocaust denier? Check out the two-part video lecture below from Dr. Robert Carter. Of course, since many CC alarmists will attack the messenger to cover for their bad theory (Note: this is a debate method when your argument is weak), here are his creds:
Dr. Robert Carter is a Research Professor at James Cook University (Queensland) and the University of Adelaide (South Australia). He is a palaeontologist, stratigrapher, marine geologist and environmental scientist with more than thirty years professional experience, and holds degrees from the University of Otago (New Zealand) and the University of Cambridge (England). He has held tenured academic staff positions at the University of Otago (Dunedin) and James Cook University (Townsville), where he was Professor and Head of School of Earth Sciences between 1981 and 1999.
Bob has wide experience in management and research administration, including service as Chair of the Earth Sciences Discipline Panel of the Australian Research Council, Chair of the national Marine Science and Technologies Committee, Director of the Australian Office of the Ocean Drilling Program, and Co-Chief Scientist on ODP Leg 181 (Southwest Pacific Gateways).
Bob Carter contributes regular media (and other) comment and opinion on scientific issues which relate to his areas of knowledge. He also offers lecture or workshop presentations by arrangement. His public commentaries draw on his knowledge of the scientific literature and a personal publication record of more than 100 papers in international science journals on topics which include taxonomic palaeontology, palaeoecology, the growth and form of the molluscan shell, New Zealand and Pacific geology, stratigraphic classification, sequence stratigraphy, sedimentology, the Great Barrier Reef, Quaternary geology, and sea-level and climate change.
Bob Carter’s current research on climate change, sea-level change and stratigraphy is based on field studies of Cenozoic sediments (last 65 million years) from the Southwest Pacific region, especially the Great Barrier Reef and New Zealand, and includes the analysis of marine sediment cores collected during ODP Leg 181.
Bob’s research has been supported by grants from competitive public research agencies, especially the Australian Research Council (ARC). He receives no research funding from special interest organizations such as environmental groups, energy companies or government departments. Bob strives to provide critical and dispassionate analysis based upon scientific principles, demonstrated facts and a knowledge of the scientific literature.
Phew! Yes, he’s a qualified expert on the subject. Any reasonable person watching this presentation of only lab tested, measurable facts and data, not predictions from biased and faulty models, can only conclude that the hysteria behind Climate Change is bunk.
Hopefully the Chavez News Network (CNN) won’t find some legal way to stifle this truth from getting out. Enjoy!

So, is this new tax intended to close a consumer loophole, stop what some see as an evil addiction, punish those who try to save money, or is it an an attempt to fleece the American people once againWell, Congress is remiss to close loopholes on themselves, so that can’t be the reason. Online shopping… well, I don’t think that qualifies as an addiction. The idea of punishing cost conscious consumers is contrary to the Obama plan…you know, spending money to help the economy, so that can’t be it. That leaves just one thing… government hands in our pockets once again.
When will enough, be enough? With the current crop of thieves in office, it will never be enough. Their time seems to spent trying to find innovative ways to tax us, or in finding ways for themselves to avoid paying taxes, while at the same time ensuring they stay in power. How difficult would it be to throw a monkey wrench in to their plans? If this bill is passed, and signed by Obama, we’ll need to stop buying online. My appologies to the online merchants, but you better make plans to find another source of income. Perhaps, a barter system? Some tell me the left has used this system for quite some time, and is regarded as “the underground economy.”
When will America wake up, and take this country back from the power brokers who want to control everything we do, think, make, and earn?
Just look at how much they jack up prices here:

I can not wait to sue everyone in the neighborhood for breathing out. This should be the easiest cash I have ever not earned. Hopefully ‘O’ can get a process in place quickly so I can my millions.
