Guy Dressed Up Like Thomas Paine: “On To Washington!”

Over the past several weeks, I have been well entertained by that guy who dresses up like a Founding Father and preaches common sense to all watching (to date hundreds of thousands of people). I saw one of his first videos on Hot Air, but later watched him with millions of people on Glen Beck’s Fox News program.

It’s not that I disagree with what he says, I am just more amused by his delivery method… but he is fun to watch. “Thomas Paine”, as he refers to himself, gets worked up about basic Constitutional principles that one could consider Originalism, to which I can safely say I subscribe. Allahpundit does not seem to like him as much as I do (citing his “language about enemies and attacks to describe policy disagreements”), and it’s true that Paine might turn off a lot of people by his dress and passionate delivery.

That said, his follow up video to the Tea Parties is a call to action for conservatives and others sick of run-away spending that will lead to higher taxation and dependence on government.

Will this lead to a Million Founders March on Washington this summer? Who knows, but one thing can be said… this is definitely coming from the grass-roots and not the corporate board rooms of Fox News as some had suggested.

For now, I will follow Paine’s suggestion and post the idea here. If it catches on, who knows where we will be at that time. Certainly not here!
