SNL Goofing on Obama Avoids Obvious; UPDATE: Crowder!

I don’t get it. Saturday Night Live has a history of trashing the obvious idiosyncrasies of its political targets… but why not President Obama? Let’s face it, in the past there have been exceptional performances of the Presidents, including the Speech Stuttering Bush by Will Ferrell, Big Mac and Playboy Clinton by Darryl Hammond, Dana Carvey’s awesome “not gunna do it” of Bush 41, and many, many others.

Have these guys heard of the teleprompter? Obama’s rhythmic speech? His grandiose language? I mean, they should have a field day with these little things. I am not an idiot, I know the cast and writers are probably big fans of his, but this has not stopped the Daily Show or Cobert from making funny jokes, has it?

Here is the video from SNL that I saw on Hot Air this morning. What is notable about it is how “not funny” it is. Rather, it is closer to what reality has seem to become.

UPDATE:

How did I miss Steven Crowder’s new video, essentially saying the same thing I did (except about Slow Joe)? I probably would not have done the “Rainman” thing, but I am not the professional here. See below:

    much ado about nothing.

The government is keeping the company alive, it is acting as a responsible member of the board would. Even Jack Welch agrees with me Welch would bet on US auto comeback

The Whoopie Cushion’s point was not about the auto bailouts, but a media kid-glove handling of Obama, even by spoofers, being ridiculous. There is plenty of material for SNL to work Obama over pretty good, but unfortunately this is not going to happen. It’s not a Dem/GOP thing, as Bubba Clinton got skewered plenty of times, it’s an Obamessiah thing.

Yeah, Mike… I’m with No Class Viking on this one. Not everything on this site has to do with policy… this is just a comment asking why SNL would pull the gloves back on the obvious low lying fruit for the picking. The skit was not funny, as the lack of laughing from the audience can prove. SNL did a great job in the past making fun of Bush 43, Clinton, Bush 41 and Reagan. Why would they not make a decent skit, I do not know.

Leave it to Crowder to add perspective … LOL!!
