Sobering Up After the Obama Drunkfest

America elected a very smart and charismatic man to the White House. Yet his inexperience and political pandering were generally dismissed because of his celebrity and an almost creepy, cultist movement for the nondescript ‘Hope’ and ‘Change’ he ran on. George W. Bush had worn out his welcome having endured mistakes from hard decisions and the relentless attack of the MSM, Democrats and liberals. Obama provided the excitement of the first African American President and represented everything that was un-W. It was an Obama revolution, drunkfest or Jedi mind-trick or something.

Yet now it seems that some are finally waking up from this haze and realizing what Hillary Clinton and many others knew all along – this guy is green, and I’m not talking about Global Warming Climate Change. He didn’t exaggerate his qualifications, everyone knew what they were. American’s chose to ignore them and are just now coming to the sober reality that we have a president who is indeed getting on the job training.

From The Economist:

His performance has been weaker than those who endorsed his candidacy, including this newspaper, had hoped. Many of his strongest supporters—liberal columnists, prominent donors, Democratic Party stalwarts—have started to question him. As for those not so beholden, polls show that independent voters again prefer Republicans to Democrats, a startling reversal of fortune in just a few weeks. Mr Obama’s once-celestial approval ratings are about where George Bush’s were at this stage in his awful presidency. Despite his resounding electoral victory, his solid majorities in both chambers of Congress and the obvious goodwill of the bulk of the electorate, Mr Obama has seemed curiously feeble.

Luckily, there is no questioning Obama’s work ethic, intelligence and likely ability to eventually become an effective president. The question then becomes effective doing what? Pushing a liberal and socialist agenda is what. Obama is making no bones about this and is governing mostly from the left. He is not a centrist, like President Clinton was and to his credit, never really misrepresented himself as such. Just ask Joe the Plumber. Centrist Democrats and the GOP can either go along, not go along or outright resist.

Either way, hold on to your bootstraps.

You are correct that he did tell everyone what he was going to do after he was elected. It was all outlined on the campaign website for everyone to see. Problem was that the Kool-Aid drinkers (Obama Voters) either didn’t want to know or were ready for a socialist agenda.
