Hollywood Hero Chavez Seizes Airstrips and Ports by Force

On a slow news Saturday, the hero of liberals throughout Hollywood and beyond, Uncle Hugo Chavez, makes even more moves indicative of a despot dictator on par with The Dear Leader. Using the military as his tool, Chavez and his puppet government seized Venezuela’s most strategic airstrips and ports from the states to bring them under federal control. From WaPo:
CARACAS, Venezuela — Venezuela’s government seized seaports and airstrips in at least four states on Saturday, a move critics say is meant to limit the powers of mayors and governors opposed to President Hugo Chavez.
Chavez last week warned that any governors who challenged the takeover could end up in prison.
“They’re not using reason, they’re using force,” Chavez opponent Eliseo Fermin, head of Zulia state’s legislative council, said Saturday.
The measure also prohibits states and municipalities from collecting tariffs or tolls at transportation hubs or on highways, cutting off a key source of funding for local projects that could otherwise compete with federal handouts, Caracas-based economist Abelardo Daza said.
The order, along with a prosecutor’s request Thursday that opposition leader Manuel Rosales be arrested on corruption charges, sparked protests in Venezuela’s second-biggest city.
This is what Libbywood wants America to be like? This is the supposed hero of the people, while now term-retired Bush is an evil dictator and el Diablo?
“No matter what the greatest tyrant in the world, the greatest terrorist in the world, George W. Bush says, we’re here to tell you: Not hundreds, not thousands, but millions of the American people support your (socialist) revolution,” Belafonte told Chavez during a broadcast on Venezuela television.
This American does not.
