Cramer vs. Stewart

It is absolutely amazing to me that during this time of economic crisis and political transition, Jonathan Stewart picks a soft target like Jim Cramer as the best person for ridicule. Consider Timothy Geithner having no treasury staff yet trying to tackle the financial mess, or Obama and his administration gaffing all over the place, ACORN bully tactics, or 9,286 earmarks in the omnibus spending bill, where even a goofy congressman beat him to the spoof.

Material is ‘a plentiful’ nowadays, so why is Stewart and other politicomedians like David Letterman taking a holiday from bashing the government? I think we all know the answer to that.

Joe Scarborough does a nice job of explaining it on Morning Joe (below).

These politicomedians in the MSM are going to wither on the vine if they continue to attack soft targets like Jim Cramer. Sooner or later some red meat will be needed to keep audiences tuned in. Count on it not being related to The One and/or his ‘Change’lings, not good to attack people implementing their shared ideological agenda. Then who?

Hmmm, good question.

Not only will they lose their audience, but also attacking the media cannot be a good idea for anyone, even the White House. With Gibbs, saying he “enjoyed” what Stewart did, eventually, the White House and these politicomedians (great word BTW) is going to tick off the wrong media figure and the attacks will come. With blood in the water, we know how the media reacts to that. They won’t care who it is and take them down. The media will take care of their own.

So, let’s see what happens when Lauer, Gibson, Couric, or someone of that level criticizes them and the White House attacks them. If these come to the aid, they will be taken down along with the White House.

I am not sure if this White House continues to go through growing pains going from campaign to government, or if it is the most immature executive branch we have ever had. At some point in time, you have to do what George W. Bush did, and ignore the static of the talking heads. Not this White House… they take greedy pleasure in the skewering of their former political allies, turned critics.

    Crazy!
