From Hot Air, Roland Burris appears to be hanging on to his long sought Senate seat, against all calls from Democratic leaders for him to resign. Not only that, but he appears to already be ramping up for 2010 by readying his campaign website.

Jeff Emmanual from redstate.com appears to have caught our Junior Senator with his actual Senate accomplishments prior to the site’s recent update:

The fact is, Burris will likely accomplish nothing in the next two years, save running for re-election in 2010. With his own party ostracizing him and calling for his resignation, is there any hope that he will lead any piece (minor or major) of legislation through the chamber?

Advice for the Illinois GOP: PLEASE, stand back and let this happen. Burris is a pariah who wants to run again, and will likely fracture the Illinois Democrats in a primary battle.

Would you rather keep this terrible candidate around, and let him poison the Illinois Democratic primary in 2010, or eject him now, midterm, when the voters are snoozing and then face someone in 2010 from the Illinois Democratic Machine?
