OK, the headline is a little dramatic, completely untrue, and borrowed from Windbag but he’s right, sometimes the airline industry (especially Delta) really sucks. I know, there are many things in this world more worthy of words and worry than a horribly inconvenienced business traveler, but these stories can be just so amusing …

OK, the headline is a little dramatic… and completely untrue, but let’s face it, sometimes the airlines industry (especially United) really sucks. We have all heard and seen stories ripped from the headlines that demonstrate passengers mistreated, whether it is keeping them on the jet-way for hours or denying the water, or just poor customer service. Last weekend a Campaign for Liberty conference was held in St. Louis. On the way home through Lambert International Airport, an attendee was stopped in security and brought aside for an additional search. He had a metal box containing $4,800 of cash and checks from the weekend representing sales of merchandise.
Why is this a reason to interrogate the individual? Someone should inform the TSA agents the actual rules regarding carrying cash. (Hint: under $10,000 is ok according to their guidelines). Fortunately for us he taped the audio on his I-Phone so we can all enjoy the spectacle.

First there was a surcharge for the extra screening required at the airport. Fine, we all want to be safe.
Next, the airlines wanted to charge us for snacks and meals we used to receive on the plane at no cost. Hmmmm… OK, that might work, because we all used to complain about the food, right?
But what about baggage? The airlines could charge us for the bags we check… maybe $15 for the first one and $25 for the second one? Grrrrr… now this one is starting to upset …
